Luella's Bridal

LAURA AND FRANK

Posted on 11 August 2016

I arrived at Luella's Bridal with not much idea of what I wanted for my wedding dress, just a firm idea of what I didn't want! How things changed? I had found details of Luella's online as I was interested in vintage inspired designs. I made an appointment and came in with my Mum - it was my first bridal appointment (and turned out to be my last too) so we were incredibly excited!

From the minute we arrived the lovely staff were attentive and helpful and after trying on around 7/8 dresses, the lady helping me asked if she could make suggestion. After having stated that 'I didn't want anything with much detail/sparkle' I was initially unsure when she handed me the Vicky Rowe, 1920's style Evelyn dress. I mean, it was absolutely beautiful, I could see that, but I didn't think it would suit me. In the spirit of the occasion, I tired it on anyway, as the lady had been so knowledgeable and helpful, and the minute I slipped it on, I was in love! That was it. Dress sold. When you find the one, you just know, and without that suggestion, I might have overlooked my dream dress. So, thank you Luella's, I felt a million dollars on my wedding day in my beautiful Gatsby style gown. The dress ended up inspiring a lot of the theme for the day, vintage glamour. My husband, Frank, is Irish and we married in County Cork on a beautiful sunny day in June. We had a Humanist wedding for 90 friends and family at the beautiful Fota House and Gardens - an Irish heritage property, followed by a reception at the Imperial Hotel, the oldest hotel in Cork City. I received so many wonderful comments on my unusual, original and show-stopping dress and would highly recommend Luella's Bridal to anyone looking for something similar for their big day.
