KAYE AND MATT
Posted on 22 October 2016
We chose to have a autumnal wedding in a picturesque part of the Cotswolds , making the most of the Autumn colours and a relaxed , intimate civil ceremony with close friends and family followed by a night of dancing to the old school classic of our friend DJ Seb Fontaine who play exclusively for us both and our guests.
The theme for my style was Grace Kelly , I am a big fan of the elegance and glamour of the Bridget Bardot era. I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress.
I wanted a dress that felt right for the informality of the day but still had the ability to make me feel like a bride. I also needed something that I could move in easily for the duration of the evening shenanigans.
Luellas and Philippa were amazing , I was out of my comfort zone despite being a girl who owns a wardrobe full of dresses , this was a difficult brief to fill and excluded a lot of styles and body types.
The girls were amazing , once we had chosen the dress they took time to help me with accessories and fitting it all together , the seamstress even tailored my underwear to ensure there were no lines!
On the day of our wedding , after I had been transformed by hair and makeup I took 5 quite minutes to slip on the dress and take a breath , A long veil for the entrance and the ceremony and a shorter more 60’s style veil for the wedding breakfast. I did not expect to feel as wonderful as I did. My husband (who always says I can wear a bin liner and he doesn’t care) was just blown away.
We used Hydrangeas and Eucalyptus , lots of candles , vintage vases and baby’s breath to complete an elegant and sophisticated environment , it worked so beautifully.
Thanks millions and millions girls – keep up your good work , I may be applying for a job with you soon xxx
