GEMMA AND JOEL

Luella Experience: From start to finish everyone was so lovely at Luella's! I had fallen in love with the NZ based brand, Rue De Seine via Pinterest and when I discovered a London stockist I was over the moon. Initially I had thought the Dahlia dress wouldn't suit me but thought as the dress was there I should try it on! Then I fell in Love! I ended up buying the shop sample of the dress, but a testament to Luella's, it was practically perfect/brand new.
Wedding Day: the wedding day itself was amazing. Leading up to the day, the stress/bridezilla had taken hold and I couldn't see the end prize. But it really does all come together. We had the most incredible day. As cliche as it sounds it really is the best day of your life. All your nearest and dearest in one room to celebrate your love, and being told you look great is a bonus! So many people commented on how unique the dress was and how much they loved it.
Venues: We married in Stoke Newington town hall in North london, then hopped onto an open top routemaster (a risk I'm glad we took as the Great british weather came good for us!) Pimms in Victoria park (provided by the People's park Tavern) this allowed us to get some greenery shots in, which isn't so easy in London! Then on to the Artisan of Clerkenwell who had just refurbished (finished the day before!!) The Artisan is a perfect pub venue for the london vibe. A cobbled square in Clerkenwell with a terrace at the front and great space inside. When looking for venues we came unstuck as everywhere seemed to close at 11. Joel and I are not 11pm finishers so when we went down the pub route and discovered they could stay open until 2am they became the clear winner. The Artisan has fantastic food! This was very important to us as too often you find yourself at wedding eating cold buffet food. We wanted people to really enjoy their dinners and they really did! The evening food is also spectacular with Scotch eggs being their speciality!
